Peanut's many faces...

Peanut's personality has shot out of him lately...laughing more and crying less, which is always nice. He has mastered the art of putting his paci back in his mouth if it falls on his chest...it's the funniest thing ever and my mom and her friend enjoyed watching him do it this past weekend....so FUNNY! I will try to catch it on video if possible...Aint's he full of cuteness??

This outfit was Boo's and it has little baseballs on it and it says play ball...it's so cute...well, Peanut was having none of it at that moment. He eventually got over it and smiled, but I couldn't help catching his "not so smily" moment. :) He's still cuteness.

We are adjusting to life as a family of 4...it's different and difficult at times, and at other times it seems so easy. I don't take those easy times for granted at all. I said in the beginning that I don't know how people ever have a third...but I could see how that happens...by accident or by divine intervention. :) ha!

Enjoy!

Love,

Karen

Three Weeks gone by...

Alright, three full weeks have gone by, and Peanut is growing bigger...longer, I think...and gracious, I think he can wear a size 3 shoe already...according to my study at Target the other day. Boo is doing great too and constantly in tune to where and what Peanut is doing...

Here are the most recent pics...

We went to the lake to see Jeremy's family and my dear friend Mandy, and here is a pic of Boo waving to me after feeding the horse.

Here is Peanut in his car seat, ready to go...

My boys...

Boo and his crazy, spikey hair...

My sweet baby...

More things off the list...CHECK CHECK

Boo started swim lessons last week through the county...we were trying something different at the beginning of the month, but that didn't pan out well...so, all things said, we went back to the county swim lessons...ANYWAY, first day was iffy, little teary (for him and me!) but by the end of Thursday, holy moses, he was off the stairs and in the water with his whole face. It blows my mind honestly because I enjoy so much of seeing him get involved in something that is so new for his mind. Yeah, we have been at the pool, but that's unorganized...this is organized play with two "coaches" and about 6-7 other kids learning the same thing. Just watching his mind wrap itself around ideas and learning something new...well, it's just this momma's joy.
So, on to the video...it's short (about 28 seconds or so...) of "Dash and his Dash legs" (see the Incredibles) This is him going under and then kicking back with one of his coaches.

Here are some shots of them floating with lifevests...they linked all the kids together and made a "train", it was priceless. He was first, so he floated the longest. :)

Here's a close-up...

Waiting to jump in to the water...he's in the middle, if you can't tell...

The next thing we crossed off the list was a dental appt. Thanks to GRANDMA, Boo got his teeth examined and cleaned...and I did too before baby arrives! Here is Boo enjoying his time at Grandma's office...

It was so funny because I had my camera and I was in another room getting my teeth cleaned when my mom ran in to grab it and take pictures...everyone said he was so good...must have been a good day to go.

And gracious, last but certainly not least...here is my little man...in his FAVORITE NEW hat. He calls it his lucky hat and was disappointed to see that his father had taken it on Thursday and wore it while playing G-O-L-F. ENJOY!!! Ladies and Gentleman, I now introduce you to the next big golf player...

That's PING baby...I gotta say, the boy loves him some PING. He got the hat when we went to a demo day near the house and he and his daddy swung PING's for about an hour.

Backwards is just as cute, don't you think??

And lastly...Homey G.

Have a great last week of June...I'll be glad when it's over! :) Just days closer to July!!!!!!!

Here is grandma and Boo in his new TENT! That would be the one his Aunt She-She MADE him! Cool huh???

Here are Boo and Daddy and the Chick-Fil-A COW! We were at the Easter Egg Hunt at our church and the cow was nice enough to come too. :)

Here is Boo on Easter Sunday...playing with the eggs, which is the norm...he made Grandma and I hide the eggs about 8 times and even Grandma got to help find them! :)

And here we are at church on Sunday...Last year with just three of us!!!
Enjoy!

Off to the beach for a little R&R!

Pictures

All in all the trip to Florida was good...an adventure, but good. We arrived Thursday to my aunt's house. We got settled in and over the next few hours, my aunts and uncles would arrive, but I was waiting on my cousin, Mike. I hadn't seen that boy...excuse me, man in 10 years!! David was all over the place, laughing with Papaw, finding out that bean bag chairs are awesome and telling my cousin, Nolan, about pottying. Oh dear. Dinner proved fun and exciting with me getting a great chance to catch up with my cousin.
Friday, Jeremy and I took Boo to Disney, literally flying by the seat of our pants that day and my cousin, Mike and his wife Jen went with us too. We split off, only because we weren't planning on riding any of the big rides, just the kiddo rides. I believe a good time was had by all...although Mike and Jen got stuck in the mass arrival of people coming to the Pirates/Princess party.
Here is Boo and I on the teacups!!! We went fast!

This is Boo and Jeremy on Dumbo...notice that this time he is not crying his eyes out!! If you saw our pictures from September, then you will know why this is the cutest pic ever.

On to the real reason why we went to Florida...my grandfather's memorial service. It was wonderful. Just exactly how I pictured it would be, although, the stories were unscripted in my head, they were all funny, hilarious and serious all rolled into one. Gary Caruso, friend and editor of Chop Talk magazine, gave a resounding eulogy that I am sure my grandfather was humbled by. My husband spoke eloquently and directly with authority from the Lord about marrying into our family and about the decision my grandfather made to make peace with the Lord. As my uncle said...he was fine until he said the word, Pepaw. Then, it made it real and personal. You can see below the fine picture of my grandfather after pitching Game 7 of the 1957 World Series. Boo and I were trying to do the hand signal for 3. He does it well and kept telling me that he is going to be 3, but he's now 2. :)

Ahh...this picture now adorns my desktop at work...it's titled, My Boys! I love these boys dearly, with the love of a sister. I am blessed to be the only granddaughter in my family, which also means, I am blessed to have some fine men in my life. From left to right - Lewis, Nolan, my, Mike, and Danny. Mike is my older cousin, the me, then Danny, Lewis, and the baby, who now stands taller than me, Nolan. This is what I grew up with!!! Mike and I spent summers, spring breaks, and Christmas' at our grandparents house each year. As we got older, we drifted apart, but I gotta tell you, we reconnected like we hadn't been apart in years. It was awesome. Danny is a junior at FSU. Lewis is a freshman at TCC. Nolan is a sophmore in high school. These boys...well, tears just well up in my eyes when I look at them. They are strong, independent, men and I pray each day that God will bless them and watch over them.
It was a nice 5 days in Florida and a nice gathering of people honoring my grandfather. He was and will remain a special man in my heart. I look at these boys and see him in each of them...

Pictures with Pepaw

I apologize that it has taken me a while to get my pictures up...some of them were located elsewhere and it took me a while to remember where...it's been a long week if I should say so.
I think it's starting to hit me. I am emotional today, and there seems no other reason. The pictures are helping. Enjoy.

Boo was just under 3 months when he attended his first baseball game and got to see why it means so much to us...the plate with my grandfather's name and number on it is in the plaza at Turner Field.

Just a week later, Boo made his first appearance in Florida...he was loved immediately!!!

Here is Pepaw telling Boo his first story...you may be surprised to know it wasn't about baseball, but about life and love. One of my favorite pictures...I think I actually some pics like that with me in his arms.A month later (August 2004) Pepaw came up for the Braves Hall of Fame induction ceremony. That's Pepaw, Boo, me holding him, Jeremy behind me, my momma next to me and Uncle Les, my grandfather's brother.
Here we are almost a year later in June 2005. We stopped off in Orlando for a few days before my 10 year reunion in New Port Richey. Gotta love that paci!
Augus 2005 Pepaw came back up to Atlanta for the induction ceremony again...this was the year they celebrated the 15 year anniversary of the 1991 Braves (the worst to first team) - it was awesome to meet Steve Avery and Dave Justice, but it was even better hearing my grandfather walk around holding Boo saying, "This is my great-grandson!" I was teary.
It would be over a year before I would see him again...Jeremy, Boo and my mom saw him in August 2006, his last trip to the induction ceremony in Atlanta. We would make the trip to Florida in September and knew leaving that it was probably the last time we would see him.

The tests in the weeks ahead proved what we had all suspected, the cancer was there and spreading. Over the weeks between September and December, he would start showing more signs of his outward man wasting away. He was able to celebrate his 80th birthday at his favorite local place, surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly. I was unable to make it, but my daddy sent me pictures! As the weeks went by from December to this past week, I would talk with my family more than I ever had in years...weekly updates, doctor visits, Hospice entered their lives and so did in-house care. He passed away peacefully, with no signs of pain and that's exactly the way he wanted.

I pray that as the coming weeks come to a close he will find we as a family have been faithful to his requests and honored him in a most loving way. The memorial service on the 24th will be much of a celebration of his life as it is ever could be.

Enjoy the photos!

Pictures

It may be time to update the pictures...the family is getting ansy...
Decorating the tree...Boo helped Jeremy decorate the tree by stretching out the lights across the room and moving slowly closer to the tree as Jeremy needed them. This is him posing by the tree after the lights were on.

Boo helped me put the ornaments on...

We went to Jeremy's parents house on Christmas Eve Eve (23rd) and Boo got a taste of what it's like having a big family...lots of people, lots of food, and you have to share your toys! :) Here are a few pictures from the day. Boo and Papa. Cousins - Caleb (4), Andrew (1), Boo (2). We marveled at the fact that next Christmas Mom and Dad will be in a new house and the boys (the last four grandkids have been boys!) will be 5, 3, 2, and 1. WOW! The Greer household next Christmas will need to be boy-proofed!

I started this post on Saturday and today is Monday, so I am going to go ahead and publish it and add more pics to my next post.

Love,

Karen

Updates and Pictures

(In Other Words - see below)

Please bear with me over the next week, since I am in the process of having my blog changed over to Beta Blogger...same address, no worries there, but maybe different look and something seems up with my header, so I am getting my designer, the lovely and talented, Goofy Girl, to take a look at it. That girl is in the middle of finals in med school, so say a prayer for her when you get a chance. :)

I am going ahead and posting more pictures for people to look at of our Christmas pictures. I am still in the process of sorting through them and making sure all the grandparents have what they need...cause, it's all for them. :)

These boys look deep in thought and coversation! I love the way Boo looks at his daddy...it's with awe and excitement most times. It's a special bond these two men of mine have...one with purpose and guidance, with fun and adventure, and most importantly a love for Jesus. Boo doesn't even know how special he is to have such a great daddy, but I get the feeling he's starting to learn that. Jeremy-you are an incredible father. I am amazed at the way you love our son and nurture him.

Here we are! So cuteness!!! I hope my aunt Sheila thinks we did okay with the color scheme. :) HA! She is all about that most years, and my mom thought I did good. David was a dream, seriously...he did so great and that's why we ended up with a bazillion pictures. He's only 2 once, right?

I always love the before and after shots...they really show his true personality. Can you tell here that we are getting to the end and this may be the sign of a little hungry munchkin? Yeah, it definately is. It's the total Kernie face too. He gives me that look sometimes and I can't help but giggle knowing I most definately gave my mom and dad that same look when I was little.

And then...he gives the shot of his life. This screams and oozes "I am so cutie!" His teeth look nice (bonus for the dental assistant in his life - GRANDMA!) and look at his cute little cheeks...don't you just want to squeeze and pinch em!? My aunts will totally love this picture.

There you have it...the photo session in a nutshell. I have my new pictures on my desk today, and I am overjoyed to see my little Boo staring at me. It's a constant reminder of one of the purposes of my life.

        Have a great Tuesday!

        Portrait Innovations

I forgot to bring my CD with me this morning, but I do have one picture of Boo and I to post. It's on my desktop and it's just the cutest. Daddy-I think you will love it, and fear not, you are getting one in the mail soon. :)

Ain't he sweet??? Oh yes, he absolutely is!! I will post more tonight if I think about when I get home. Hope you enjoy the day the Lord has made. Rejoice!

        Boo's First Basketball Game

Recently we got the opportunity to take Boo to a Georgia Tech Basketball Game...his first EVER! He had a great time! I honestly wasn't sure if he would really sit there through the whole game, but he shocked me and proved me all wrong. I think basketball is his new favorite sport. :)

Here he is...Basketball sweatshirt and all. The smile on his face tells the whole story, seriously.

Althought he comfy chair is nice, he really preferred the aisle walkway. Not a lot of people were around us, so he enjoyed sitting there and watching the game.

Boo enjoyed a hot dog, bun included, half of MY half of the pretzel and a Sprite! I was completely amazed!!

Boo got to meet Buzz for the first time also...as much as he followed the game, he also followed with his eyes, where Buzz was all through out the game. Right before we left, Daddy flagged him down and they got to High-5. He also told him "GO Jackets!, Sting Em!" Too bad this past weekend against Georgia they didn't sting them enough. hee hee
